Singer/Songwriter's David MacLaren and Jesse Brennan live in the Mid-Michigan U.S. of A. area and formed their Country/Pop/Rock/Road-Trip-Music band in December 2005.
David was born in Alma Michigan, August 18th 1974, to Melvin and Wanda MacLaren, and has one older sister, Sondra. David has been writing music since 1989 and has hundreds of songs in his portfolio. Before he started his writing career, David sang and played music with his father, since he was two years old. His father played in bars and clubs during the 60's, 70's and 80's and had one of his own songs on the radio 'Slippin Around. David admired his father and decided to start his own musical journey . He's formed and performed in other bands, in the last two decades, like Distortion, Noreth and Madison Creek. In 2004, David recorded an album with his former band Madison Creek called 'Let Freedom Ring', but it was never released.
Jesse was born and grew up in West Branch, Michigan and moved to the Mid-Michigan area when he was in his mid-twenties. Jesse started writing poetry around the age of 10. His love for poetry turned into his love of songwriting around the age of 20, when he taught himself how to play the guitar. Jesse has written numerous songs, and still loves to write poem's. He grew up listening to all types of music ~ hard rock, pop, and country music. His song writing ranges from hard rock, rock and roll, pop and country songs. The love for many styles of music has created many creative recordings. Jesse has played with many talented musicians over the years, but mostly has performed on his own as a solo artist. Jesse recorded a solo album in 2005 called 'Acoustics', but it was never released.
In 2008, after pondering a long time about releasing their own cds separately, David and Jesse decided to join their two CDs into one. On the CD you can hear the two different, but the same flavor's of songs. On one side you have a little bit of country flavor, on the other side a little bit of rock. You can hear these Country-Rock Junkies put their heart and soul, into each one of these songs, because it's life, their life. Another troubling part of the CD was when it came to naming the CD. After lots of thought, they both decide to name it 'Burnt Bridges', since the songs were from previous ventures, they wanted to burn the bridges and start fresh and new. They released their CD 'MacLaren Brennan "Burnt Bridges" in April 0f 2008. In 2008 David and Jesse returned to the music studio and recorded their second album, but this time it was recorded truly together. The CD "Only A Real Man" was released in October of 2009 and it's all acoustic and all heart.
Newest band member since August 2011 (Drummer), Brian Lombard was born in Alma Michigan, March 25 1967. He comes from a very musically inclined family. Back in the early 60's his Dad, Dick Lombard was in one of Michigan's top 5 bands. It was called the Dave Bailey Quartet. They band played all over the state of Michigan, almost every weekend. Dick would be singing and playing the rhythm or base guitar somewhere around Michigan. At age 12, Brian started playing the spoons to his Dad’s guitar playing. After about a month of spoon clicking, his Dad finally bought him a snare drum, and eventually, a Pearl drum set. Brian played his first show with his Dad at the age of 13 in Elwell. Back then the place was called Sophie’s Lounge. Since then, he’s played in a few bands all over the state of Michigan and in some parts of Ohio. A few of the bands that Brian has played in are, Midnight Express, Hooker Band, Long Shot, Revolver, Louie Langora, the Troubadours and a few more he can’t remember. Brian has played all types of music, he grew up on Country Music from the 70's, Rock, Christian Rock, and Pop, and he loves playing it all. Brian and his Dad get together at family fish fry's every now and then and play some of there music from the past. Brian says it’s a lot of fun and it also brings back a lot of memories of the songs he played back then. Brian says he’s blessed being able to play music with his Dad, and he still thinks that he is the greatest musician that he’s ever played with.
David and Jesse have collaborated on, written, and recorded several of their own original songs since 2005, and have plenty more to be created. The band performs their original songs and also performs a small selection of cover songs. MacLaren Brennan can be seen live in performance all across Michigan.
